for Ratatouille (rat-a-too-ee)!

We watched it last night and it was so beautiful. :D You should watch it! The characters are really cute specially Remy. The film made you feel that it actually happened in Paris. The kitchen scenes are realistic in a way since you could actually picture how busy the chefs and staffs during work. The movie really made an impact in turning my interest in cooking to passion! Naks...

I even enjoyed navigating their site hehehe.. here it is...

Some friends asked me if it matched or exceeded the Finding Nemo film. For me, nothing can compare to providing an animated film that really captured the seaworld. It probaly took lots of observation and study just to provide very realistic scenes.

As for the lessons, Finding Nemo is more on fatherly love. On the other hand, Ratatouille signifies more of being passionate and fearless in reaching your dreams. Similarly, it talks about friendship and independence.

So what do you think?

Jessie, the Wonder Dog

>> Wednesday, July 25, 2007

For weeks now, our little pinscher dog Jessie has been acting weird. She is usually the very excited dog when it comes to food. She is not the typical breed dog that only eats dog food. She likes variety, so we ensure that a round robin of food types are given to her (rice with viand, bread or dog food). In fact, we sometimes cook rice and viand just for her! Hehehe.. When we give her rice and viand, she has no complains whatsoever as long as the viand is different each day. Oh! and my dear friends at the office even pack their leftovers for Jessie. Talk about spoiled dog. Tsk tsk.. We have different speculations but we think it is due to her staying with Mon's dad to be paired with dad's dog named "Doggie".

Now, she looks at us with pure disgust if we try to give her rice (with different viands) for two or three consecutive days. She will just smell it or try to taste a bit. Mon and I are most of the times frustrated with her that he talks to her like a human. "Namimiss mo na si doggie noh?", "Kainin mo yan!", "Ang arte-arte mo Jessie ha", "Ano ka, naka-hunger strike?" Funny! Hahaha..

So, what we do now is make sure that we never ran out of any food that she likes. Hopefully she returns to her old self. Or maybe... just maybe, she's pregnant! Need to bring her to a vet. Tsk tsk.. inunahan pa ako..

Dreams

I notice that I frequently dream when there's a lot going on in my mind. And I really believe that my dreams add up to my sanity. It helps me release what I feel in my waking life. I am vocal about what's been happening to me but when it seems that everything's messed up or I am plainly overwhelmed with what's happening, I tend to be tongue-tied and unable to verbalize what I actually feel. So my dreams most of the time allows me to actually cry my heart out in times of pain (I even wake up at time crying), wake up at either WRONG or RIGHT side of the bed, understand what I have been feeling, re-assess myself and even become a sorta psychic (yes dreams sometimes have a way of telling you that something's up). Not promoting or anything but my favorite site, dreammoods helped me understand dreams better. My friends who tried checking this site to know what their dreams mean are really amazed. Check it out for sure you'll love it.

I have written about it since I have been dreaming a lot lately... everyday. It's been quite a while since it happened to me. Time to connect the dots again...

Harry Potter at the IMAX

>> Wednesday, July 18, 2007

Just got home from watching Harry Potter at IMAX cinema in SM Mall of Asia. I am with my Mon and our very dear friend Cathy (too bad her husband Gilbert's out of the country , it could have been a double date hehe).

Two words after seeing the film, ecstatic and moved. Lost for words actually in elaborating what I felt but I know after some time, I'll be able to update this blog with more details. But I think as I go on composing this entry, more of my emotions will come out. :)

I am not a Harry Potter book reader. I think I'm a bit "napag-iwanan" after seeing the first Harry Potter film. So, I'm just looking forward to seeing the films for every book published. Haha..

I have been reading blogs and hearing from people how they're a bit disappointed or did not find the film really beautiful. Most avid readers have been expecting a bit more from each Harry Potter film shown. Some think there were details from the book which could have been included in the film to develop the story better. Or that there could be more parts of the storyline worth including than what was shown. Or maybe some parts of the story are changed in the film and sorta ruined the actual story. With all these, I think that sort of made more benefit than damage to me. ;) No offense to the book readers, this is just personal opinion. I watched the film contented of what was developed from the previous Harry Potter films. I watched without thinking what happened in the book. I have no anticipations and whatsoever of what's the next scene because I am totally unaware of it. Having read the book before watching sorta pre-empted one's emotions already since they have expressed the surprised, anger, joy and all other feelings ever possible to feel while reading the book. Not that no emotions were expressd during watching, pre-empted lang ng konti. Hehehe.. Kumbaga, bawas na kasi alam na ang story. hehehe..

I was thinking of adding spoilers to this entry since I have other questions or opinions on the scenes. I'll just update this blog along with our kulit pics. hehehe.. Oh! come to think of it, I think now's the right time to read the book for answers.. Hmmmm... there's always my friends who are avid Harry Potter book readers to share the rest of the story to me.. hahaha... Damn! a bit lazy to read the book ;)

Updates:

From what I heard, 350 pesos is the usual rate for full-length films in IMAX. Just because Harry Potter is so in-demand, it became a whooping 400bucks! Yeah! The place is really huge. Cathy, Mon and I have been guessing the height of the screen. I check the ever reliable wikipedia and learned that "A standard IMAX screen is 72.6 feet wide and 52.8 ft high (22 x 52.8 m), but can be larger."

We had several pics at the cinema and pics where we had the 3d glasses on was hilarious (or si Mon lang pala). Heheheh... Enjoy!

I realized I missed the times when we watch almost all good and not-so-good films (mostly at glorietta). Most of the times, it's me, Mon and Cathy watching movies together. We have a very good strategy where Cathy and I would fall in line first (to get good seats) and Mon will be buying popcorn and all other stuff hehehe.. Those were the days. haaayyy...
