Happy MonCheri!

>> Wednesday, February 28, 2007

We weren't able to post last Feb 19 (3rd month namen as husband and wife) but today's our MonCheri (Yan daw eh monthsary sabi ni Gina) as couple. :) Hehehe.. It's been 4 years, 1 month that we're together and I'd say we are really happy about it.

Everyday is a new day for us, a chance to discover more of each other and an opportunity to express more love for each other. I really am thankful to God for bringing Mon into my life... my kakulitan, my pc games opponent, my movie buddy, my eating partner, my shopping companion, my bestfriend, my soulmate, my fafi, my tabachoichoi, my baby, my labs, my destiny, my life, my everything!

Week in review (working title)

>> Thursday, February 22, 2007

It's great to have a chance to blog again! If only it was possible at work, I would have more posts. Unfortunately, due to the tightened security in the office, I can't blog there. :(

The only time I get to post is when I'm here in Che's office waiting for her to finish whatever tasks she is doing.

Last night, we watch Ghost Rider starring Nicholas Cage and Eva Mendes. I'm not really a big GhostRider (comics) fan, but I really like the movie itself. It was the first movie Che and I watch since... hmmmm... what was the last movie we watched? Can't remember.....

Anyway, my brain is still aching as I had a product training earlier from 3PM up to 7:30PM. Quite hungry, actually. Good thing Che has some Sunmaid Raisins here. Hehehe

I guess I'll just have to work on that Bohol-Cebu post I should have posted weeks ago.. Oh well.. Better late than never.... :-)

A Boring Monday and Weekend Recap

>> Friday, February 16, 2007

Yes it is a boring Monday. Just doing some work and some stuff. Later, we'll meet my pamangkin Revo since he'll be staying over again at our house. He's currently doing their thesis and they need to develop a web application using Java. I gave him an overview last night but I still don't know what other approach we can do to fasttrack everything.

Online diary na talaga ito! :D Here's the recap:

[Friday Evening]

Weng and I had a chat. As usual ang dami naming napagusapan from cellphones, savings, birthdays and kalokohan. I found out that she bought a new phone! A Sony Ericsson z610i!!! Ganda, very classic. Black and gray fones always look classy. :) Anyways, here are some excerpts:

--> Excerpt 1
Weng: at saka nga ni-take ko na sign yung pagdating namin ng galle kahapon, yun yung unang store na sumalubong samin
chinggay: usap kami ni tin one time, sabi ko swerte pala ko pagdating sa cellfones
Weng: bakti?
Weng: bakit?
chinggay: hehehe
chinggay: bakti == bakat panti
chinggay: :))
Weng: hahahahahaha
Weng: lokaloka ka talaga

-> Excerpt 2

When Mon arrived to fetch me, stay pa sya konti dito sa office. Then when we finally went out of the office, sobrang traffic naman. People might be having their post-valentine celebration because I saw a few couples and most of the ladies are holding roses. hehehe.. humahabaol.. We decided to take UN instead of the usual Roxas Blvd route. Ayun, bigla kong naalala yung japanese resto where Snowy treated us. Newfound love ko yung Tempura hehehe.. kaya ayun, kain kame para iwas traffic. Natuto na din ako kumain ng maki lalo na ng sashimi! But I think dalawa lang ung take kong kainin -- tuna and salmon. Pero super fave ko salmon. Hehehe.. Anyways, here are some pictures. (Busog *yum yum* hahaha...)

When we got home, relax lang kame. I got a call at 1230midnight from Tin and chika na to the max sa cellphone. For sure taas na naman ng bill netong si Christina hehehe.. Natapos na kame mga 2am na dahil parehong fones namen sumuko na hahaha..

[Saturday]

We woke up late hehehe.. I woke up 9am and Mon, 30 minutes earlier. Usually we wake up at around 7-730am even it is weekend. Nagbabawi kame ng tulog since we palaging puyat. 11AM, we're on our way to Bayong's place. Here are some of our inaanak's pictures:

We left Bayong's place at around 1230pm and decided to go to BF for lunch. Dapat KFC pero we settled for Shakey's na lang. Yun, I called Tin para mangumusta, chika pa din! Hahaha.. Lasted more than 10mins. Parang ang tagal na nde nagusap eh.. We decided to meet sa tropical dahil may bibilhin sya so Mon and I decided to buy some stuff na for the house. When Tin and I met, Mon went back to our house to give us some alone time among other reasons (*wink*). Yun, Tin and I stayed at Starbucks until 5pm. hahaha.. can't get enough of our bonding and chikahan.

[Sunday]

Went to BF wet market to buy our pambaon for the coming week. Seafood and vegetable ang theme namen ni Monching. Hehehe.. Bought tilapia, shrimp, squid, asohos etc. hehehe.. We decided to have lunch at Mon's dad. I tried to "grill" our tilapia using our microwave oven pero sawimpalad. Hahaha.. 30mins na half cooked pa lang ung fish! Hahaha.. Then we tried combination mode ayun, steamed fish ang labas. hehehe.. In fairness, they liked it a lot hehehe... Afternoon, we just watched tv and waited for Revo to arrive. Tapos turo na ko java while Mon went upstairs to clean (ambait di ba?!) and then do something in our computer.

Yun lang.. what a busy weekend! Pero enjoy naman ;)

TGIF: Thank God It's Friday!

Starting in America, it has become a common expression of relief at the end of the work week and anticipation of relaxing or partying over the weekend. For more info, go to WikiPedia .

Don't you just love Fridays? Here are a few reasons why I love it:

  • Chill-out day... I just feel more relaxed when it is Friday.
  • It's weekend already.. Mon and I can just do the things we want. Relax, EAT!, read a book/comics, visit our parents, go to the mall, EAT!.. just about anything.. ;p
  • Wash day at the office. We are allowed to wear jeans but no sneakers, rubber shoes, slip-ons! How weird was that?! Though pasaway halos lahat dito (hehehe..) and our manager is not strictly imposing it. :D Yey!
  • Lunch out day with office friends. We usually bring baon or order to Kuya from Monday to Thursday but it is a RULE that we have to eat out on Fridays. Rain or shine! Not just eat out but try different restaurants every week. :)

Love is in the Air...

>> Thursday, February 15, 2007

... since it was hearts day yesterday. And because of that, I have a very long kwento.

I have been in so much anticipation since Mon had me guess his plan. I was restless and can hardly concentrate with what I do. Probably because I can sense that almost everyone in our office personally feels that the day is really special. We even have an officemate who celebrated his birthday. :) Belated hbd Ding!

Lunch time, I just picked up my gift (airbrushed Batman shirt) for Mon at Robinson's Place. Got excited that the colors were taken from the original one. I also dropped by handyman to buy a new steering wheel cover for Mon. Sometime this week, he had a bruise and he suspects that it is due to the worn out cover. For me, it was another gift idea. Hehehe...

Back to the office, my teammates and I went to the pantry to eat lunch. That is when I was told by my co-February celebrant that our manager requests if we could schedule our treat the same day since our 6 Chinese Alagas are going back to China to celebrate Chinese New Year. We agreed on it and our officemate arranged the ordering for us. After some time, a delivery man entered our work area carrying a box of roses and it for Gnet! :) Sweet sweet Ronnie! Hehehe... Come 430pm, our orders from Amber came - spaghetti, pancit bihon, lumpiang shanghai, pichi-pichi and barbecue! We even have double dutch ice cream as dessert. So much for diet. Hehehe..

While eating/chatting at the pantry, I noticed that Mon has been calling me (3 missed calls =). Third time I was able to answer his call, he asked me to go outside. I got out and saw him with a bouquet of pink roses! How sweet! Hehehe.. I savored the moment for a while (minsan lang to eh! hahaha) and told him I'll be out before 7pm. He just went down and waited for me.

Gnet gave me an idea of just putting the shirt that I'll give him. To add a bit of surprise, I put on my red jacket. Funny thing he was not bothered by me wearing a jacket when it was not even cold. Haha... Since I can't take wearing 3 layers of top, I asked Mon just when I was about to ride the car, "Be, pakitanggal mo naman jacket ko." The look on his face showed he found my request a bit odd. Hehehe.. When he unzipped the jacket, his face glowed. Good thing he liked the shirt!. :D

We went to Baywalk for our date! hahaha... But we had the Manila Bay Cruise and the boat (M/V Tennesee Walk) docks there. I saw the reservation ticket and my jaw dropped! It's a whooping 1990 pesos! The cruise only tickets are 250/pax while with dinner is 495/pax. Since I know that we'll have dinner, it should just be P990. Mon said I'll figure out why there's an additional 1k when we board the boat.

Anyways, it took a while for the boat to arrive so we just chatted and took pictures of ourselves. I learned that the trip is an hour and a half long and there are four trips per day. The sunset cruise which starts at around 6pm, the dinner cruise (the one that we got), the next one I forgot (starts at 9++pm) and the last is the midnight cruise (11++pm). Then finally, the boat arrived! We noticed that there are two cameramen covering the first cruise (kapuso yata) while approaching the dock area. Sayang! Hahaha... Then came our turn...

We are in the "special arrangement" area pala, guaranteed seating. Dun napunta ung 1k. Grabeng extortion ito! Haayyy... Anyways, we are near the stage and it has a more romantic mood since there's a nice table setup for two. We have to wait for another 30mins for the boat to finally sail. But that 30mins is worthwhile. First off, appreciating the view. Tingin tingin lang kami sa paligid, noticing that all who availed the special arrangement are couples. There are some who brought their kids with them but nonetheless, panay lovebirds. :) Second, more time for picture taking. And lastly, few moments of warfreak guests. A couple with their little son, occupied a reserved table. They ignored the label in the table and when the couple actually assigned to the table arrived, the waiters asked if they can be transferred to another table. The couple started to raise their voices out of anger insisting that they stay at that table. The commotion added more attention when the operators came and asked the same thing. They got so angry they left the boat. In fairness to the operators and waiters, they are polite when they informed them that they will be transferred to a different table. The other one was when the boat started moving. The table in front of us seems to be a foursome but the other one is missing. The man called someone on his celfone and shouted, "wala na, ang tagal tagal mo.. umaandar na!" and the rest is !@#$%!. Hahaha..

The food came from Barbara's. I was expecting it will be superb since they are well-known to serve best-tasting food. But I was wrong. Only the fish fillet got a thumbs up for me. The rest is just so-so. We had mushroom soup and then the main course (with the dessert). Fish fillet, Fettucine in tomato-based sauce, fried "mojos" (better yet kamote! hahaha) and blueberry cheesecake. So much for a P245 meal.

As for the ambiance, it's great! I thought cruisin' in manila bay will be stinky but it's not. It got colder when we boarded. There's a band who sang many oldies songs (parang combo sila haha!) but familiar ones naman. Some of the songs that I remembered: how can i tell her, words, pretty woman, wonderful tonight. Oh, there was a point when we are far from the seawall, and the surroundings are in pitch black. It was a bit scary at first, but we saw occassional small boats that are sailing too. We also passed by a marine boat (i think).

When the boat is coming back at baywalk, we saw a fireworks display somewhere in Buendia, probably at Hotel Philippine Plaza. Some of the displays where the bow and arrow of cupid and hearts which added more appeal to us.

We really enjoyed the night. I think it's quite expensive for that cruise considering that the food served is of a very small portion (antakaw talaga! tama na din para diet haha!) and that among the dishes, I can only recommend one -- thie fish fillet. But come to think of it, I am with my hubby, that made the cruise really awesome and special. Added factor na lang yung mood and ambiance. ;) Saya!

Belated Birthday Celebration

>> Wednesday, February 14, 2007

Yesterday, we had my post birthday dinner at an authentic Italian restaurant in Yakal, Makati called Carpaccio.

The ambiance is superb, a wonderful mood was set for lovers like us plus the food is delicious. We ordered:

Penne Pasta ala Marinara

Pizza with Fhugi and Prosciutto
(mushrooms and Italian bacon)

I think I haven't mentioned that Mon had a haircut last January 25. He's skinhead because of my constant pangungulit. I asked him to have that kind of haircut since his hair grows so fast. This time, it'll be months before his head turns into a bird's nest. :p Here's how he looks now (ampogi!!!):

Anyways, it was just a chill-out night and we both felt so relaxed. Mon and I just talked just about anything and kept our mind off from work. He even made me guess where he is taking me for our valentines date. We played the popular pinoy henyo just for that. Haha.. I have asked all the possible questions and yet I still haven't figured it out. I asked for another clue but no luck hahaha.. Though the final clues are Manila-Roxas boulevard area and fine dining. Hmmm.. I can't think of any place here that's fine dining. I think it's better for me not to know for now so as not to ruin the surprise. :p Here are some more pictures:

Today is a Brand New Day

>> Monday, February 12, 2007

Here's a wonderful line that perked up my day...

"There is a purpose within you that has stayed alive just so it can be expressed right now. Listen to that purpose, feel its richness and the genuine joy that it offers, and follow where it leads..."

Weekend Recap:

[Saturday]
Since I have been staying late at the office, Mon and I barely have enough sleep. He would go home and wait for my text as to what time he'll fetch me so he can do some house chores or just kill time. That's one thing I really appreciate from my husband. He'd really insist on fetching me when I need to render OT. I find it so sweet. :) Anyways, we just spent the whole Satruday at home, doing small chores and sleeping almost all day. hahaha... Mon cooked lunch for both of us and this time, walang nasunog at sobrang alat na food. We slept around 2pm and got up around 6pm na. That's the only time, I washed our clothes using our ever-reliable washing machine. Hehehe..

[Sunday] Bought groceries at BF around 7am. Sobrang enjoy ko ung grocery trips namen ni Mon. Kasi naman, I get to feel na misis na misis ako. Hahaha.. When we arrived, ayun luto na ako ng food for our lunch as well as pambaon for the week (Feeling expert haha..). I planned to go to Cathy's house sana to return the digicam we borrowed for our Bohol-Cebu Trip (naiibahan ako, sanay ako na tawagin si Cathy nang Bayong eh hahaha peace Yong!). Pero etong si mon, wants to stay at home daw so I put off my plan. Within the week ko na lang papadaan kay Mon ung camera since malapit lang naman sina Bayong samen. :)

Nice Song, Nice Lyrics

>> Friday, February 9, 2007

My friend/teammate Gnet sent me this youtube link to hear Fergie's latest song, All That I Got. And I'll pass on her reminder to ignore the video and just listen to it... Hehehe...

Nagandahan ako instantly kasi it's not the typical upbeat song na laging maririnig sa kanya. Plus, I managed to hear some catchy lyrics kaya I told her that I need to know the lyrics. Hehehe.. Kakatuwa kasi she shared this quote:

"I've got this theory that there is two kinds of people in the world, there are lyric people and music people. You know the lyric people tend to be analytical, you know, all about the meaning of the song, they are the ones you see with the CD insert out like 5 minutes after buying it pouring over the lyrics interpreting the hell out of everything, and then there is the music people, like Brooke, who could care less about the lyrics as long as its got a good beat and you could dance to it. I don't know sometimes it might be easier to be a music girl and not a lyric girl, but because I'm not let me just say this, sometimes things find you when you need them to find you, I believe that, and for me its usually song lyrics." - Peyton's Podcast

Are you a lyric or music person??? Ponder on it..

By the way, here's the lyrics:

FERGIE (f/ Will.I.Am) LYRICS
All That I Got (The Make Up Song)

Baby, baby when you're looking deep in my eyes
I know you're seeing past my make-up
Into the little girl that used to hide out and cry
When her parents fought
Tryin' to be strong

You can see the hurt in me
The cover ups so secretly
And all that I aspire to be
You'll see, you'll see
You know who I really am
No entourage or caravan
And do u even give me a damn
About all that, now tell me

[Chorus]
Would you love me if I didnt work out or I didnt change my natural hair
And I could be the one you want grow older with, baby
I'll give you all that I got

See, I dont mean to scare you now and push you away
Cuz I'm not tryin' to rush anything
But when i look into your eyes
I'm not scared you see,
I see near you
I'm in the picture too

Like a happy family tree
We're together costantly
This could be eventually
We'll see, we'll see
But all that I have got to know
Is with me baby you will grow
Through sun and rain and heavy snow
Oh tell me so now baby

[Chorus x2]

[Will.I.Am:]
It's as simple as one and two
I'm in love with you
And three and four
You're all I adore
To the seven and eight
See I've been making mistakes
Cuz when you're on my mind
I just cant think straight
Back to the five and six
I'm all in the mix and Im all into you
Without the lipstick
Without the L'Oreal
You remain the same angel that I fell for
For real, for real

At long last, my turn to blog....

>> Thursday, February 8, 2007

Finally managed to get some free time after a very long break from blogging! :-)

So let's see, I got married, then Christmas and New Year, went to MV Doulus (the bookstore ship travelling around the world), then went Cebu and Bohol, and a brand new skinhead! (no pictures please!)

My current hobbies: I am no longer active in Kings of Chaos and Hellwars, started collecting the Marvel's Civil War comics (6 out of 7 parts collected), reading either 48 Laws of Power and His Needs, Her Needs (ssshh! wag kayo maingay! hindi alam ni Che na binabasa ko to!)

Updates coming soon...

Ang Reunion ng Batswan

>> Monday, February 5, 2007

Hehehe.. Kung hindi ko pa nabasa ang blog ni Weng, nde ko maaalalang wala pala akong post nung magmeet kaming SPI Batchmates sa SPI. Naudlot kasi ung supposed new year kitakits kasi eh. Anyways, when I learned that Kiomi resigned at SPI and will be leaving soon for Singapore nagpursigi na akong i-organize ang reunion. Unti-unti nang nababawasan ang batswan sa 'Pinas eh. Lei immediately flew to Singapore to be with his husband, then si Kiomi nga. Then there's Tin and Cel, for Singapore din.

So ayun, mail mail, text text at sa wakas lahat ng nandito, nagpunta! After such a long time, "nakumpleto" kahit pano. Too bad our long lost batchmate chose to ignore my calls and text messages.

Our kitakits was at Red Box Greenbelt, Makati. Good thing nareserve na ni Tin yung place, it was ladies night pala so we do not need to pay for the room and food is optional na lang. Needless to say, we had a lot of fun! Instead of singing, super kwentuhan lang kaming lahat since we had a lot of catching up to do. How I missed these guys!

After a few days, Lei and I chatted at ym. She's happy too that the batch had a reunion. Sabi ko nga, baka sa dami ng batswan na nagpupunta ng Singapore next time dun na ang reunion. Pwede! Hehehe..

Anyways, here are some pictures. For the rest, click here.

Totohanan na ito!

I never put a lot of details here about my work. At hanggang ngayon pa din hahaha.. Ang sasabihin ko lang, totohanan na ito. I want to be more serious with what I do. Recently (ay mejo matagal na pala) nawawala kasi yung sense of accomplishment sa akin eh. And good thing my hubby is always there to wake me up. He said that I just need to get the motivation from myself na lang. Oo nga naman, naisip ko na hindi yata dapat ako primarily magrely sa pagkuha ng work motivation around me. Extras na lang yun, booster kumbaga. Today's a good start, I just have to keep this up. :)

It's my Birthday and I'll Cry if I Want To...

>> Friday, February 2, 2007

Haaayyy... I guess it is a not so happy birthday for me.. *sigh*

[updates]

I won't tell the details why I am not so happy sa birthday ko. Happy pa rin naman pala ako kahit paano dahil my hubby and I spent my birthday sa bahay ng parents ko. Some of my relatives are there also so nagtreat na lang ako ng pizza (thanks to Pizza Hut's palm card, ang dami kong natreat na pizza hehehe). Kwentuhan and everything lang.. Yun lang ang masishare ko.. Ang tipid no? :)
