Runaway

>> Tuesday, March 31, 2009

One of my fave songs from The Corrs..

Say it's true, there's nothing like me and you
I'm not alone, tell me you feel it too

And I would run away
I would run away, yeah..., yeah
I would run away
I would run away with you

Cause I am falling in love with you
No never I'm never gonna stop
Falling in love with you

Close the door, lay down upon the floor
And by candlelight, make love to me through the night
(through the night, through the night...)

Cause I have run away
I have run away, yeah..., yeah
I have run away, run away
I have run away with you

Cause I am falling in love (falling in love) with you
No never I'm never gonna stop
Falling in love with you...
With you...

And I would runaway
I would runaway, yeah..., yeah
I would runaway (runaway)
I would runaway with you

Cause I am falling in love (falling in love) with you
No never I'm never gonna stop
Falling in love with you...

Falling in love (falling in love) with you
No never I'm never gonna stop falling in love with you

With you, my love, with you...
na ni na ni na na...
(With you, with you, with you, with you)

What Happened to Gretchen Barreto???!

>> Sunday, March 29, 2009

I used to really love how Gretchen looks like.. Very fresh looking despite her age and she'll probably be mistaken as just in her late 20's. Beautiful indeed.

But now as I see her in television, I can't help but get so worried of her. She suddenly become one of those obsessed with botox. I think she just ruined her face. She looks like swelling all over.. anything about her face is stiff... Sayang.. super sayang..

Nothing against having some treatments/procedures but for me, it should be done in moderation.

First pic, she's really beautiful.. Second one, seems she already had some botox injected to her cheeks but okay pa din naman.. The third one,, OH NO SHE DIDN'T!, additional botox to her cheeks, lips and forehead. I can't find a pic without sunglasses but when I saw her a while ago sa ASAP, she seems to have had her eyebags removed. Nde pala maganda completely walang eyebag. :p

First two pics courtesy of pep.ph and the last one from ph.news.yahoo.com.

Reminiscin'

When I got back to SG from a very short trip to Pinas, I brought with me some of the old pics I have since College to good ol' SPI days.

It's really nice to look back.. Seems that life is a bit simpler back then.. Especially when I was still studying.. :) But nevertheless, I'd say my life is still very much blessed. And I am very thankful to God about it. :)

Here are some of the pics:

With my BSC-106G Barkada - Shungaks. sad lang wala yung kumpleto kami..

With my BSC-MIS A and B blockmates

Last day before facing a more challenging chapter of our lives..

Japanese Style Grilled Pompano Fish with Rice, Green and Red Apples for Desert and Water...

I really love the fish dish since it is smothered with teriyaki sauce, black and white sesame seeds and dried bonito. Along with that are boiled broccoli and apple salad (sometimes coleslaw) Yum! Prior to eating this, I told myself.. "Must. Eat. Only. Half. Of. It.". Hahaha.. Because before, I can finish all of this in one seating. Andproud to say, I resisted the temptation! hahaha.. Will eat the rest at around 5pm. :)

Oh and by the way, my drink is not just a cup of water... but LOTSA water!

Got this mini water dispenser from my monito when we had a Pinoy-Only-Colleagues Christmas party. Cute no?! I don't need to go to the pantry often for water. :p

Aching All Over..

Physically... Seriously.. I have been going to the gym for quite some time now.

Why it's aching? Well, I had a second session with my trainer last Wednesday. And oh my! seems that all my muscles, ligaments, tendons and fats were shocked about the movements my body has made. Haha.. The trainer gave me a routine that I can use whenever I go to the gym. Some can actually be done at home since there's no equipment required.

Yesterday, seems that every hour the pain is intensified. Until now it's painful... Waaahhhh... I was even planning on going to the gym later this evening pero when I woke up today, nah! Ang sakit pa din!!! Que horror!

During my first session, what ached a lot was my upper body (especially the abs and arms). The pain made us suffer for a week. Hopefully history won't repeat itself with the recent routine.

Oh well, at least we can be sooo sure that our trainer knows what parts we actually need to work on (in our case, ENTIRE BODY! hahaha..)

Husband and I are still in the stage where I need to really dedicate at least 3x a week hitting the gym or at least do some exercise at home if I can't. They really say that the first month is the deciding stage. Whether or not to continue exercising. I have been there many times and now I won't give up! We really have to be health-conscious now. Oh yeah, I think it comes with age! haha..

We are also gradually changing our diet. So far, we are eating frequently but with smaller portions. We are trying just a bit or no rice at all! A challenge for us hahaha..

Just not sure with Mon now.. Since he's back home, I'm sure he'll be eating a lot. He is surrounded with people who will really feed him well. Just now, my nanay told me, she put tocino, suman and hotdogs (etc) in our ref so husband won't be hungry. haha..

Oh well, one thing I have been doing is not stocking up on so much food at home. At least unhealthy ones. We are chowing down dark, bittersweet chocolates instead of the milky ones due to its health benefits. We went back to eating wheat breads now. We make sure to drink soya milk (trim) and more water.

What's next? To add in our diets more fruits and veggies. To make sure that we drink our daily dose of vitamins. To ultimately live a healthier, fat-free life...

Goodluck to us! Aja! Haha..

Officially Missing You...

>> Wednesday, March 25, 2009

Yes, I'm terribly missin' my husband. He flew back to Philippines last Wednesday midnight for his much deserved vacation. I wasn't able to go with him due to workload :( as well as I am saving my leave credits for a longer vacation this year.

I was able to go back to Manila last January though. We were supposed to fly back together but for some reason, his leave has been rejected the last minute. Only now that he was allowed to take a leave.

I think at times it is healthy for couples to spend some time away from each other as it really makes the heart grow fonder (naks! haha). Do their own stuff especially with their respective families.

Personally, his absence made me think of the things that I so love and appreciate about my him. It allowed me to think of ways to show him more how important he was to me once he comes back.

I'm really in deep anticipation of his return here in SG! Apart from his pasalubongs of course hahaha.. :p

Keep the Love Alive

>> Tuesday, March 17, 2009

Found this simple yet very meaty tips to make the relationships stronger. At times, we are so caught up with work and our problems that we lose time and patience with our loved ones. These tips are really good, made me think that it will probably a while to get used to doing some of these but doing it one step at a time will ease it a bit. :p

1. Act Out of Character.

Couples develop a particular dynamic: the way they relate to each other that repeats itself over and over. If you break that pattern and act against type -- in a positive way -- you inject new life into the relationship. For example, if you always get angry at your guy when he doesn't follow through on some chore, try addressing him in a nicer, more friendly tone, then thank him when he does a good job. It works every time. -- Toni Coleman, psychotherapist and relationship coach in McLean, Virginia

2. Get in Touch a Lot.

No doubt you hug and kiss each other. But simple acts like stroking his arm while you're watching TV and taking his hand when you're walking down the street are also ways to bond. Touching your partner throughout the day triggers your feel-good hormones, which reinforces your affection and makes you feel closer on an instinctive level. -- Psychotherapist Barton Goldsmith, PhD, author of "Emotional Fitness for Couples"

3. Take Turns Talking.

To make sure you both get a chance to state what's on your mind during a disagreement -- and get your points across -- alternate playing reflective therapist, where one listens while the other talks. -- Psychologist Diana Kirschner, PhD, author of "Opening Love's Door"

4. Find the Intersection.

When making decisions together, try to find common ground. You each should write down exactly what you want. Let's say you're angling for a vacay in San Francisco to see the sights and hit up the cool shops and restaurants, while he wants a tropical getaway where he can veg out by the pool and sip drinks with umbrellas in the glass. Now that your desires are clearly laid out on paper, you can pick a place that will satisfy both your needs. A cool city, a little sun... how about Miami? -- Paul Dobransky, MD, author of "The Secret Psychology of How We Fall in Love"

5. Be More Positive Than Negative.

There's a more effective way to air grievances than to file an angry complaint. Sandwich your negative comment between two positives. If you want to complain about how he's always late, for example, try something like "You know, I love that you're so laid-back and easygoing, but it really bothers me when you show up so late. I'm sure you can still be the fun guy I adore and also be on time." -- Los Angeles psychologist Yvonne Thomas, PhD

6. Echo Each Other.

When you and your man are having a serious relationship talk, it's easy to get so caught up in how you want to respond that you're not really listening to what's being said. That's why it's important for both of you to repeat each other: so you know you've been heard and you feel understood. -- Yvonne Thomas

7. Take a Time-Out.
Neither of you is perfect, and the quirks you both have are here to stay. So rather than let those annoying traits work your last nerve, try to get in touch with the upside of those particular flaws, even if it's not immediately recognizable. Instead of getting annoyed when he starts screaming at the TV, for example, remind yourself how much you love his passion. Or if his shyness with new people bugs you, think about how refreshing it is to be with a chill, genuine guy rather than a blowhard who needs to chat with everyone in the room. -- Denver psychologist Jennifer Oikle, PhD, dating coach for Coupling Connection

8. Have His Back.

You might not agree with your guy when he's had a riff with a friend or he thinks his boss is being unfair, but you should always be on his side... and vice versa. Otherwise, you'll both feel like you can't count on each other. That doesn't mean you have to take the "you're so right" route all the time. Just hear him out, and let him know that you'll support him no matter what. -- New York City psychotherapist JoAnn Magdoff, PhD

9. Spend a Little Money on Each Other.

You don't have to wait for a special occasion to give small presents to show your love. In fact, gifts are more fun -- and meaningful -- when they're not expected. Try to get into the habit of exchanging sweet tokens of appreciation for no particular reason. Don't go and blow your paycheck though. It's not about being extravagant; it's just a way of showing that you really get -- and think about -- each other. Maybe you buy him a tee of his favorite band that you saw on sale or he gets you a pair of pajamas in your favorite color. -- Barton Goldsmith

10. Be a Good Date.

Face it, no one can stay fascinating forever. After being together for a while, the initial excitement fades, and your guy can start to get kind of boring sometimes. Hey, don't think you're off the hook -- if you're feeling a little ho-hum about him, the feeling is likely mutual! To combat the blahs, take turns coming up with an interesting date idea every month. Keep the time and details to yourself, and try to think outside the box -- dinner and a movie is not exactly innovative. An awesome concert or a snowboarding lesson, for example, is a much less predictable treat. -- Jennifer Oikle

Rainy Days and Mondays..

.. always get me down.

Haayyy, rainy days really make me gloomy and a bit sad. What made it more gloomy is that it's Monday. Add to that, I feel a bit exhausted due to lack of sleep. I might be turning insomniac since I always always have a hard time sleeping nowadays. :(

*sigh*

Just now, I'm about to explode. I am so.. so irritated with a colleague. First, he had re-installed the core framework of our application in one of our deployment servers. All the currently running apps doesn't work anymore. I and another colleague resolved the issue. But it took time since there's a lot to verify and what he did had drastic effects on our apps.

Afterwards, he kept on bugging me. Asking me questions, making me do things, which honestly, is fine with me despite of my other tasks to complete. Then! He came to my place, ranting about the problem. Told him that it's good most issues are already resolved. Then as he was about to go somewhere, I remembered something that I need to clarify. When I told him, he said, he has a lot of things to do. The nerve!!! Imbyerna talaga. I didn't complain when he bugged me a couple of times regardless of my workload and yet, 1 simple question, he dismisses me?! Grrrr... I told him that it's just one question and I'm sure it would not take a long time to answer. And true enough when I asked my question, it took him less than a minute to answer.

Kainis!

Time for A Major Blog Revamp

I really need a blog makeover. Yesterday, I was talking to my friend about blogs when I realized it seems that the layout of my blog sort of contributed to my "katamaran" to post. The aura isn't just right. Hehehe.. Later, I will look for a new template for a fresher look. Suggestions are welcome. :p

Update 1: On our Own in Singapore

As part of my catching up plan, here it is. :p

We have recently moved to our new place. We have been staying with our very good friend, Cel and her family for more than a year now. She's expecting her second child and they will need more space for their growing family.

We had a lot of fun staying at their place. That flat filled us with fond memories.. From the endless kainan (kaya ang taba namin ni Mon) to our playtime with David and to our 'gimik nights' which are purely series/movie

watching at home, videoke galore (with choreos hahaha), game nights or just the simple magdamagang chikahan.

We will surely miss the times where we are greeted with David's "Hi Ninong! Hi Ninang!" (which was previously Nonong and Nanang hahaha..) and his countless "paghila" to us to play with him and stay with him in their room.

Good thing is... We're just a couple of blocks away! Hahaha.. In short, kapitbahay pa din. Cel and her family are still having a vacation in Manila when we found 'our' place. I was just browsing a website containing units for rent when I came across this ad with pictures posted. I immediately setup a viewing appointment that same day and I loooovvee the place. Though it's only in second floor, doesn't matter. The place is newly renovated,

which nice kitchen and cabinets. The sofa and beds are new as well. So with that, we didn't think twice of getting it aside from the fact that it's very near Cel's place.

We moved last December. It was a very tiring 'lipat bahay'. We were amazed that we have a lot to carry to our new place! We went back and forth our new place to get our things. Add to that the task to arrange things and do our everyday tasks (work, clean, laundry, cook, etc). It took us a while before we have sort of completed arranging our things. And until now, we still have some stuffs to do for the place, but we're getting there.

We really like the place and we have adjusted in a short time. It's as if we are in our place in Sucat (minus the bigger space to clean :p). Alone together. Hehehe.. But eversince Mon started in his new job, whichs is

shifting :(, I am still adjusting to sleeping alone at night. But that's a different story. Will create a separate post for that. :)

Once we're done tidying up our place so it would look more presentable, I'll post pics. :D
