Bye for now Singapore..

Hello Pinas!

Today's our flight and so far, we don't have any problem with Riley. Hopefully he won't cry or have some tantrums when be board the plane.

He woke up just before we are about to go to immigration. We went to the playground for him to try the toy pony. He's very serious because he just woke up so see the uber-serious baby riding the pony. Hehehe..
Praying for a safe flight. :)

On Going Back Home..

>> Thursday, May 12, 2011

In two days' time, we're heading back to Pinas. We went home last December-January to spend the Christmas season and New Year with our families. Now, we're going home since it is the 70th birthday of my father-in-law. :) Hubby is really looking forward to this vacation since it is an important milestone in his dad's life and he's really sure that everyone will be very fond of Riley since he's already big and interacts more than our last vacation. :)

It is just a 9-day vacation and we want to make the most out of it. I just hope and pray that it will be a wonderful one. :)

Daddy Loves to Give Riley a Bath

>> Wednesday, May 11, 2011

We have attempted to give him a bath at the bathroom already. The third time, there was an accident where he slipped on his tub. His face hit the side of the tub and it seems that after that, he does not like to take a bath there anymore. :(

So for now, we returned his bath time location at our very reliable dining table haha! It's a bit of a challenge now to give him a bath because he either likes to hold the water or stand. He plays his usual "splish-splashing" of water so imagine the dining area with overflowing water hehe..

I am so happy seeing hubby enjoying the bath time moments with Riley. A really good sign that they'll bond well as Riley grows up. :)

The Me Day!

>> Sunday, May 8, 2011

me and my "bubblehead" :p

Yes, it's a me day since it's mother's day! :) Weng and I booked Vintage Salon for our hair treatment services. Sometime last March I think, we bought vouchers to this salon for a package treatment. I arrived there first and I was immediately accommodated. They offered drinks while I wait for Weng and when she arrived, the treatment started. She got the scalp treatment while I got the hair coloring treatment. It was such a wonderful and relaxing moment for me -- something I have not done for soooo long. And aylavet! :)

Pacquiao vs Mosley

And I thought this will be one of the very challenging and one-of-a-kind fights of Pacquiao to date. But I'm wrong. It looks like Pacquiao only had a sparring and practice session. A boring fight to think that we subscribed to Starhub's sports bundle just to watch it without problems. Haayyysss...

Anyways, here's the food I prepared while watching the game:
My creamy mushroom shrimp pasta and modified version of halo-halo (i.e. whatever ingredients that will pass as halo-halo - corn, nata de coco, macapuno)

And whoah! When I saw Jinkee Pacquiao on tv, shocking! I captured her image as well as Pacquiao's praying and giving thanks and combined it together. Here it is!
What a transformation! Hehehe.. She looks different and for me, seems like she wants to look like Kristine Hermosa. :p Belo is really good in transforming her ha! Oh well, I have nothing against making yourself more beautiful but I have seen a lot of celebrities having a procedure gone wrong (READ: one facial expression for all emotions haha). She just have to know the boundaries of the procedures she'll allow to do to herself because as they say, "Nasa huli ang pagsisisi" hehe..

Happy Birthday Daddy!

>> Thursday, May 5, 2011

Last night was just a simple celebration for us.. Our usual bonding moment when it was only just the two of us. Dinner and movie date. Oh yeah yeah, it's boring for some but to us, it's actually fine especially that we haven't been doing it a lot for a while now. :) For hubby, it is still a very nice way to celebrate because his birthday is just in time for the Thor movie. Being a Marvel fan himself, he won't let this pass! :)

So after having a so-so dinner at Big-O cafe Paragon, we just roam around for a bit at the Paragon. The place is really different during weekdays as it looks very deserted, in a spooky kind of way. :) We got used to Paragon having a reasonable amount of people inside it probably because we usually go there in weekends (my OB's clinic is at Paragon). After a while, we decided to go to Plaza Singapura since it is nearby The Cathay, where we will watch a movie. We went to a Lego store and found out that there's Lego Minifigures Series 4 Already! We haven't even completed the Series 3 yet! Oh my! Guess what happened next?

We went to The Cathay and stayed at Starbucks for a while. Hubby must have his birthday cake! Bought him the chocolate cake and his ever favorite, Java Chip Frappucino. And oh! It is not only me who greeted him happy birthday but the minifigs as well. Hahaha..

Happy happy birthday Daddy! Everyday is wonderful because of you and I thank God for that. :) Please bear with my shortcomings, believe it or not, I am a work in progress.. to be a better person. I love you so much!

Good Food, Good People...

means it's Wednesday lunch fiesta once again. It's sunny today so we had lunch at the picnic area near our office building. I realize we are not taking much pics of the food and we immediately dig in hehehe.. That's why most of my post are group pics. hehe.. Well, today is no exception. :)

Church on Labor Day

>> Monday, May 2, 2011

Labor day, May 1 fell on a Sunday and we attended a Born Again Christian Sunday Service. I have been into this struggle for a week now about my life and how I can improve my relationship with God. And it was a good time I had a chat with my friend Gnet then Ness about it. They both encouraged me to try attending a Christian Sunday Service.

So today is the day... It is definitely different from the Roman Catholic Mass where everything is already defined/standard and the homily is created based on the gospel. For the Born again Sunday Service, it starts will people rejoicing and singing praises to God and Jesus. Very spontaneous and the teachings are Jesus-centered. I'd say I like it a lot and is still open is attending the service again. Although as a Marian devotee myself, I had questions about how they see Mother Mary. Ness, Mon and I had a wonderful talk after the mass about Mama Mary, life, religion, beliefs.. a lot of things. It is really refreshing to attend their service, sort of renewal for me. An event that made me realize a lot of things, that I need to change some of my ways.

It will still be a long road for me but I am happy that God showed me a way to probably shorten the road and have lesser struggles. Super thankful..

Mall Day

>> Saturday, April 30, 2011

It's IMM, Jurong East this time. I really like this mall since there are a lot of outlet stores you can find there. There's Esprit, Giordano, Timberland, Crocs, Hang Ten, Bossini and a lot more. They also have a huge Daiso store that I haven't been to.

First stop is merienda time. For the lack of choice (read: tamad mag-isip), we settled for McDonald's. Here is the father-son tandem playing:
Next stop is we went to Esprit to buy pasalubong for our Pinas trip this month. Yes, we're going back for a few days holiday in Pinas to celebrate hubby's dad's 70th birthday. Since hubby is starting to get tired because he's carrying the 10 point something kg baby (hehe), we went to the customer service to borrow a stroller. It's really good that IMM has this service for their customers because sometimes, bringing a stroller is actually a hassle. Just go to the second level customer service area, present your EP/IC, fill up a form and you'll get the stroller right away. :) You have to leave your EP/IC though.

We just went inside a few stores until the baby finally fell asleep.
Dinner was at the nearest food court and we all opted for Japanese food. :D Didn't have the chance to take a picture of the food because we are really hungry. hehe..

Time Surely Flies!

>> Friday, April 29, 2011

So fast! That Riley is now eight months old! Wow! From a very tiny baby to how he is now, chubby but tall.

Looking back, the past 8 months is really wonderful to us. God blessed us with a wonderful baby boy and our lives really changed a lot. He can do a lot of things already and we are happy that he is exploring things himself and with us guiding him along the way. :)

Food was: Pinoy Style Spaghetti, Coffe-marinated pork chops,
Mustard marinated porkchops, Buttered Veggies and Chicken Lettuce Wrap

Terrific time with Daddy

Loving Vitamin Water

>> Wednesday, April 27, 2011

I have been hearing and reading about Vitamin Water but can't seem to find one here in Singapore. Then one time we are inside Cold Storage, I saw a few flavors. I bought three and I liked all of it. :) Very subtle flavor and not too sweet. :)

I'd probably buy from time to time 'cause it's really good! :)

Playing With Riley

>> Monday, April 25, 2011

We were at Daiso one time when I saw this ear muffs that probably fits Riley perfectly. Lo and behold! It does! :) He seems to enjoy wearing it 'cause he's really grinning from ear to ear. Hehe..

Holy Week

>> Thursday, April 21, 2011

It's very fortunate of us to be very near a church, Blessed Sacrament Church. Accessibility is important especially that we have a baby with us. Any emergency, we can go back home within five minutes time and return to church afterwards. This happened to us a few times already when Riley pooped just right after entering the church. We still were able to hear mass and Riley comfortable all throughout it.

Holy week is another chance for us to repent for our sins and be thankful to God as well for giving His own son, Jesus Christ to save all of us. I am really determined to instill to Riley the values necessary for him to be a good follower of God.

Another Lunch Fiesta and Korean Bibimbap Making

>> Wednesday, April 20, 2011

Whoah! We have a lot of food today! Still, we enjoyed it a lot and it was devoured in a breeze. We ate at the playroom/pantry area since it is raining hard outside. No picnic today.. :)
After that very very filling lunch, we have to attend to the Korean Bibimbap session since we signed up for it. :) So we just listened to how it is made, prepared some for ourselves but did not eat it. We just had it as take away. :) Mon loved it! Of course, he's a bibimbap fan. :D

Clementi Mall

>> Monday, April 18, 2011

We wanted to check out the new Clementi Mall so we headed out and explored the place. We had lunch at Fish and Co.

We headed to a baby store where I got Riley some toothbrush (in stages), new feeding bottle nipples and a munchkin fruit net.
We also went to the newly opened Fair Price Finest. And it's fun that they have a kiosk where you can scan, pack and pay yourself. :) Hubby tried it and it's pretty good. Only problem is that if you bought something very light, in our case we bought a dishwashing foam, it cannot be detected when placed on the plastic. Apparently, there's some sort of detector/weighing scale below to detect if you actually have placed the item after scanning or have not scanned the item place on the plastic. Again, it's pretty good and only needs minor changes to detect light items.

>> Thursday, April 14, 2011

Hubby and I wants to encourage Riley to take up martial arts classes once he reach the suitable age. We are very hopeful he will like it as we think self-defense is a very good thing to learn. Riley is really malikot when asleep. One time, we just saw him in this position. Is it a sign that he'll enjoy martial arts lesson? Hahaha..

Hubby and I had an impromptu dinner date last night. We haven't been spending time alone for a long time now so I guess it's just right for us to do it. :) We initially planned on having a once a week alone time but didn't really followed it. Most of the times, we really like spending our alone time with Riley so I think it is still good.

Had dinner at Bakerzin and we both got their bento meals. He got the Japanese beef curry while I got the carbonarra. :) It is very yummy and filling. I wasn't able to eat my dessert! We're not supposed to be allowed to bring the dessert home but I asked if it is possible once I buy one more dessert. The manager, being so mabait and so pinoy, agreed. :) Yay! Here's a pic of what we ate (his on top, mine at the bottom part):

Wednesday Lunch Fiesta, Once Again!

>> Wednesday, April 13, 2011

Yummy food, great company! What more can you say!

>> Monday, April 11, 2011

Am I turning Riley to be a food junkie? Noooo! I think any food he sees, he likes to try. So when he saw me eating Pepero, he just have to have it! :p

P.S. Lesson learned, don't stock on junk foods. You may indulge sometimes but DO NOT STOCK. Just buy one, share with everyone and that's it! :) No more second rounds! :)

>> Sunday, April 10, 2011

Riley's now using his hand-me-down walker! Yes, I think it's already a good time for him to try a new "gadget". :) This one is from her Ninang Cel, used by David and Daniel. Still in a very good condition.

Funny how babies usually start with the walker, they walk backwards all the time! hehehe... I'm sure in a matter of weeks, he'll learn to manoeuvre properly. :)

>> Saturday, April 9, 2011

The playground near our block has been renovated and now it's done! We tried to visit a little early so baby had a bit of time by himself to explore. But during that time, he just woke up so still not in the mood for some action hehe..

Cold Chicken Pasta Salad

>> Friday, April 8, 2011

We had a short session on cold chicken pasta salad making at the office. This is another of the good things here at work, they make an effort to make sure of the well-being of employees by providing activities other than work hehe.. :)

Initially, I thought I cannot eat it but once I tasted it, it is actually good! :) It is also very healthy as the ingredients are a mixture of shredded cooked chicken breast, diced tomatoes, diced bell pepper (preferrably 3 colors for variety), cooked pasta, a little sesame oil, sesame seeds, crushed black pepper, sugar and light soya sauce. :)

Here are some pics:

Wednesday Lunch Fiesta

>> Wednesday, April 6, 2011

Yes, we decided to have that in the office for the main reason that we are getting tired of eating at the nearest food courts at the office. There are 3 available food courts, 1 in DSO where we don't eat at all, so the remaining two will be at Cintech and Science Hub. We do not go to Holland Village every week as it is costly and of course takes us more lunch hours. :)

So after long talks, we decided for it to be every Wednesday. Everyone will bring in food to share. :) Here's the premiere hehehe...
It's Us!
Monggo with Chicharon
Manggang Hilaw
Mee Siam?, Monggo and Adobo
Looking forward to more wednesday lunch fiesta! :)

Lunch at Thai Express

>> Tuesday, April 5, 2011

Before, I really don't like Thai express. Probably because the first time we ate there, I ordered the wrong food. You see, I am not a fan of super spicy food. I only can take spiciness up to a certain degree. :) But my colleagues, like it there and I was able to try some food in their menu that I actually like. So now, you can consider me a regular at Thai Express. We regularly go to Holland Village branch since it is quite near our place, plus free shuttle service are available every tuesdays and thursdays. :)

Emo Strips?

Saw this nice stick-on paper with band-aid design when we went to Anchorpoint for lunch. This is the newest addition to my desk gallery at the office hehehe..

Dario and Tine's ROM

>> Sunday, April 3, 2011

April 2 was a very remarkable day for Tine and Dario as they embark a new chapter in their lives. They got married via civil rights here in Singapore and I must say, it's a day filled with love and laughter. :)

We arrived there promptly (330PM, not Filipino time hehe) and had some photo ops before guests start to arrive. We just had to grab the opportunity especially that Riley has no sumpong yet (but he rarely have sumpong episodes anyway). Here are some pics:

Guests started to come in by 4-430pm and the room got crowded fast. Lots of chika chika until we're suprised that Dario and Tine are already walking, entering the function room of their condo. The ceremony is actually starting! It was fast and breezy! Congrats to the newlyweds!

The middle pictures, we gave the couple their gift. We made a simple card for them. Here is the bigger version of the card:

Dario and Tin actually prepared three games (mind you with prizes). But among all three the game for the singles is the most fun of all. Here, they have to guess the what, when, where questions about the couple. Our two female colleagues are the final two contestants. Tin's male colleagues got the highest too. After a while, it became to female contestants for the only male contestant. After all the hullabaloo, our female colleague who loves to cook was chosen! woohoo! :)

This is a very wonderful and memorable event. We had a lot of fun alongside being happy for Dario and Tine. :)

April Fools Day

>> Friday, April 1, 2011

Yes it is! A colleague attempted to fool us by saying he is resigning but we got him a tad before believing that it is true! Whew!

Aside from that, we had the impromptu dinner at Lau Pa Sat. We all chose to eat at Tapa King as we are craving for Filipino food. After that, we headed at the Esplanade and just chillax. :) It was a fun and relaxing night for us. Just enjoyed the Marina Bay Sands view and lights show. :)

The baby already sleepy.. Wala pa nga sa destination eh..

>> Wednesday, March 30, 2011

A Smile...

>> Tuesday, March 29, 2011

is something if you give it away
Give it away, give it away
A smile is something if you give it away
And it all comes back to you..

It's just like a magic penny
Hold it tight & you won't get any
Lend it, spend it, give it away
and it all comes back to you.. :)

>> Monday, March 28, 2011

Happy 7th month dear! We love you! Don't grow too fast! :)
